Cookie Policy
Effective Date: [Pending attorney review — to be set before general availability]
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Asolo also uses localStorage (a browser storage API) for larger client-side data such as analytics identifiers and your saved cookie preferences. This policy covers all such technologies.
2. Categories We Use
Strictly Necessary
These are required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled via our cookie banner.
- asolo-auth-token — Supabase authentication session (HTTP-only; never readable by JavaScript)
- asolo-auth-token-code-verifier — PKCE verifier used during OAuth sign-in flows
- Supabase realtime connection state — session continuity for dashboard
Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent and are active on every page.
Analytics (Optional)
PostHog product analytics helps us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. No client names, matter details, or other attorney–client privileged information is sent to PostHog.
- ph_* — PostHog distinct-ID and session identifiers (localStorage + cookie)
You can accept or decline analytics cookies via the consent banner on first visit, or change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the site footer.
Marketing / Conversion Tracking (Optional)
Google Ads and LinkedIn Insight Tag are loaded on the marketing site only when you have consented. These are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. They are never loaded inside the authenticated app where client or matter data may be present.
- Google Ads (gtag.js) — conversion measurement only; no remarketing audiences are configured
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — conversion measurement for LinkedIn ad campaigns
- _gcl_* — Google Ads click attribution (set by gtag.js on marketing pages only)
- li_* — LinkedIn Insight Tag session identifiers (marketing pages only)
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Withdrawal stops new data collection immediately.
3. Third-Party Cookies
When you initiate a checkout or visit the billing portal, Stripe may set security and fraud-prevention cookies. These are set by Stripe's domain and are outside our control. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.
Crisp support chat is available only in the authenticated app and may set its own session cookies. It is never loaded on public marketing pages.
4. Managing Your Preferences
Change your analytics and marketing cookie choices at any time by clicking Cookie Preferences in the footer of any page. Your selection is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key asolo_consent_v1.
You can also manage or delete cookies directly in your browser settings. Note that clearing strictly necessary cookies will log you out of the platform.
Most browsers also support opt-out mechanisms for specific ad networks:
- Google Ads: google.com/settings/ads
- LinkedIn: linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out
